Priorities for regeneration in Wales - funding, implementation and generating local growth

February 2016

Price: £95 PLUS VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

Key policymakers and stakeholders at this seminar discussed the future shape of regeneration policy in Wales.

Sessions assessed progress in implementing the Welsh Government's Vibrant and Viable Places regeneration framework following the report of the Ministerial Advisory Group - released in October 2015 - and remaining challenges and priorities for the next stages of regeneration policy in Wales. Delegates discussed the further development of Enterprise Zones; the use of targeted funding for the priority areas of high streets and town centres, coastal communities, Communities First clusters, and ways to facilitate improvement of the coordination of regeneration efforts between business, Welsh Government, local authorities and the third sector.

The seminar brought policymakers together with stakeholders including local authorities; businesses and industry associations; architects, surveyors and developers; housing associations; universities and colleges; environmental and community groups and others with an interest in these important issues.
