This seminar was an opportunity to discuss the next steps for improving mental health and wellbeing in Wales.
It followed the Welsh Government's Together for Mental Health Strategy annual report (2012-16) and the Health and Social's Committee's inquiry into the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
Delegates assessed challenges for delivering the Strategy's aim of improving mental health and wellbeing based on 'prudent' healthcare principles. They discussed the effectiveness of the Welsh Government’s strategy so far and the next steps to be addressed in the next 3-year delivery plan - including improving promotion and education of mental health and wellbeing, prevention of mental health issues, establishment of new partnerships, improvement of information services, integration of health care services and addressing factors that can lead to mental health. The agenda also focused on the impact of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 and next steps for improving implementation.
