Next steps for developing the new National Curriculum for Wales - content, assessment and the Digital Competency Framework

March 2016

Starting from: £99 + VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

This seminar brought together policymakers with stakeholders from across the education system in Wales and more widely to discuss the key challenges for implementing the new National Curriculum for Wales following Professor Graham Donaldson’s Review Successful Futures and the full acceptance of the recommendations by Welsh Government.
It was a timely opportunity to discuss the Welsh Government framework for the implementation of the new Curriculum and the practicalities of replacing Key Stages with new 3-year ‘Progression Steps’ and strengthening the role of Welsh Language learning, as well as the likely impact of the proposed new assessment system.
Sessions also considered the content of the new Digital Competence Framework - due to be introduced from September 2016 to sit alongside the existing Literacy and Numeracy Frameworks - and the preparations schools, training providers and others will need to make in order to achieve a successful implementation of the Framework.
