June 2015

Price: £95 PLUS VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

Delegates at this seminar discussed the future of tourism and the tourism industry in Wales.
In the context of the Welsh Government's tourism strategy, Partnership for Growth and the Enterprise and Business Committee's Inquiry into Tourism, those that attended assessed the management of existing tourism structures and potential for improvement. They also reviewed the impact of major events on tourism in Wales, and the way forward for the promotion of Wales as a tourist destination through a coherent Welsh brand. Further sessions looked at the challenges and opportunities for tourism in Wales, priorities for investment - including travel infrastructure into and around Wales - as well as ways to stimulate and promote the tourism industry, and the representation of Welsh tourism at a UK and international level.
The seminar brought key policymakers together with stakeholders in the tourism sector including industry bodies and businesses associated with tourism, events, transport and infrastructure; consumer and visitor groups; local authorities and cultural and heritage institutions; and other interested parties.
