This seminar discussed challenges and opportunities for improving energy efficiency in households, commercial buildings and the public sector estate in Wales.
It followed the release of the Welsh Government's draft Energy Efficiency Strategy - published in June - as well as the National Assembly Environment and Sustainability Committee's inquiry into household energy efficiency and fuel poverty in Wales.
Delegates discussed next steps for addressing fuel poverty and improving energy efficiency of new and existing housing stock, drawing on lessons learned from the Welsh Government's Arbed and Nest schemes so far, as well as discussing the impact so far of the UK Government's Green Deal and ECO programmes.
The sessions also addressed the Strategy's proposals for improving energy efficiency in Wales more widely including the impact on businesses and the public sector, as well as the role that innovation and new ways of working can play in reducing energy demand.
The conference brought key policymakers, from UK and Welsh Government departments, together with stakeholders from the energy industry, energy-intensive businesses, consumer groups, environmental organisations, local authorities, academics, and others with an interest in these important issues.
