This seminar focused on identifying priorities for the Workforce Strategy, taking into consideration the joint regional workforce planning, recruitment and retention; the expansion of generalist skills and modelling for future workforce needs.
Sessions examined the necessary steps to effectively implement the Workforce Strategy’s goals, including the proposed new leadership competency framework and development programmes, which will seek to promote strong governance.
Additionally, those in attendance considered plans for creating a flexible and learning workforce, taking into account the changing demographics and moves to more integrated care, as well as marking NHS Wales an exemplar employer in creating and supporting an engaged and healthy workforce.
